Production of Silica Sand

High grade silica sand is usually found as deposits under thin or thick layers of soil and over burden. After quarrying of over burden, the sand undergoes several processes before sale. The processing may include crushing of stone and gravels of silica sand, screening, washing and cleaning of grains, removal of silt or coarse sand, sizing of grains as per demand.After processing the sand may be dried and for few applications it may be require to grind in ball mills to produce very fine silica sand , which is known as silica flour.
